The World Bank is a group of international financial organizations around the globe aimed to provide assistance to its 187 member countries. The World Bank was formed after World War II to help devastated Western European countries and provide them with capital.
As it grew, the World Bank has expanded to include other developing nations. Now, its basic goal is to combat poverty by providing member countries with sound financial advice, loans (such as low or no-interest loans), and research.
