Barack Hussein Obama II  born August 4, 1961) is an American politician and attorney who served as the 44th president of the United States from 2009 to 2017. He graduated from Columbia University in 1983 and later joined Harvard Law School in 1988. Earlier, from 2005 to 2008, he served in the U.S. Senate representing Illinois, which is a state in the Midwestern region of the United States.

Barack Obama is a member of the Democratic Party. He was the first African-American president of the United States. He was the first African-American president of the United States. His father was born in Kodele, Siaya County in Kenya.
